Valentina Cayota
Valentina Cayota is the founder, director, choreographer, and instructor of 678 DANZA, as well as an independent producer of artistic events.
With a background in Business Administration specialized in Marketing and Cultural Management, Valentina has successfully combined her artistic sensibility with a solid academic and commercial foundation, positioning herself within the cultural and creative industries.

From an early age, she showed an innate dedication to dance and a strong commitment to the performing arts. She trained in classical ballet and jazz dance, and graduated in Musical Theatre from EEAA.
​
At age 21, after earning a scholarship, she moved to São Paulo, Brazil, where she lived for four years, and later to Lisbon, Portugal, to deepen her training and gain experience in artistic and cultural environments. During this period, she collaborated as a dancer with contemporary dance companies such as Grupo Raça in Brazil and North Dance Company in Portugal.
At 24, she presented her first original work, “La Valija”, at the Teatro da Trindade in Lisbon, with the sponsorship of Casa da América Latina. Throughout her time abroad, she studied with renowned international dance teachers.

Academically, she studied Cultural Management at Escola São Paulo and with the Companhia Os Satyros in Brazil. She also completed a two-year Arts Management Program at the Companhia de Olga Roriz in Portugal, where she received recognition from the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) and the INAE. In Uruguay, she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Administration with a Marketing focus at Universidad ORT.

Currently, Valentina holds multiple roles as teacher, choreographer, and director at 678 DANZA, focusing on offering her students and dancers challenging experiences that foster continuous growth.
​
In 2021, she was selected as a jury member for the Mobile Dance Film Festival in New York, and since that year has received ongoing support from the Itaú Foundation for various 678 Danza productions, as well as sponsorship from Uruguay’s Cultural Incentive Funds (FIC) since 2024.
She has also worked as an independent producer for artistic events at Punta Carretas Shopping.

With an unwavering commitment to both artistic and personal growth, Valentina continues to nurture the talent of every member of 678 DANZA, while exploring new forms of expression and collaboration within the arts.
